The article below is full of great ideas on how to find a good new doctor…please add your own experiences, tips and suggestions

Great article that talks about the importance of good bedside manner, doctors that listen, checking your insurance at the start of your search, asking good questions and do your homework of course! It has lots of good ideas especially at the end under “Finding a good fit”…like…

“…During that first visit, think about how the doctor and office staff make you feel, HHS advises. If the doctor doesn’t make you feel comfortable, show respect for what you have to say, know your medical history, and spend enough time with you, then they might not be the one for you.”

I am grateful for all the blessings in my life. At times I feel scared, worried & down. But in reflection I have everything I need & more (see image)

There are a lot of bad things going on in the world today: scary times with extreme weather, very frustrating politics, and death, dying and suffering with Covid. But when I find time and just step back I realize I have so much to be grateful for. I have been so very blessed with a strong network of super supportive friends and family…including all of you here in this group! I’m blessed to have a roof over head, food on the table, comforting home with heat & cold at the right times, the beautiful land we walk on and all the majestic animals who I connect with, great doctors, clinics and I’ve mostly had great hospitals, nurses, PT etc… and my body is very functional…I still have Neuropathy which can be very distracting & painful and I sometimes have debilitating migraines from Long Covid. But in the big picture I have basically survived very scary times with TWO pandemics : being 35 years HIV+ and having Covid big time have both left me fighting for my life …and yet I’m still here to talk about it…so many others are not. I’ll take what hurts and remember I’ve had much worse pain over the years (Yes, it’s all relative and in those worst time all I had to do was STAY ALIVE and family and friends were great loving and supportive care givers, now I live alone, have a active life, and have quite a bit to juggle every week, often every day)…but I can handle it and again …I’ll take the great and let go of the awful any day!

Feeling good today and I'm grateful

Today was normal ( at least for me). Actually normal and I'm glad because yesterday was a really sad day for me. I am so happy that I get to have these feelings and that I get to share them here. I think it's absolutely important to appreciate the good days and express the bad.

Now that I am here, I wanted to ask you all what you feel about new year resolutions. Do you think they are uplifting or could lead to disappointment in the future?

Getting new glasses tomorrow

Well I’m picking them out and they will be here within the week (Thank God for Medicaid) Medicaid will cover the glasses and the tint I need will be less than $20 out of pocket. The good thing with being high-risk during this mess is my wife and I have saved a lot on gas and other stuff, so we can afford it, no problem.

I’m so excited! Will post pictures when in store and when the finished product comes in!

Now I don’t have to wear two sets of glasses all the time, and it’ll be a lot easier using my headset for speech-to-text
